Privacy Policy

Angus GeoSolutions Inc. (“AGSI”) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors of any AGSI public facing websites (“Websites”).

This policy describes the types of personal information the Websites may collect from you when you visit and how AGSI uses that information. By using the Websites, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. The Personal Information the AGSI Websites Collects from Website Visitors.

When browsing the Websites, there are two types of information that the Websites may collect from you:

1.1. Personal Information. This includes information that can be used to identify a person, including name, email, address, phone number or other personally identifiable information. The Websites do not collect Personal Information unless voluntarily provided by you. AGSI may use Personal Information for the following purposes:

    • To follow up on requests to learn more about AGSI
    • To address other specific inquiries made through the Website or other means, and / or
    • To authenticate your access to an AGSI Client business application

1.2. Non-Personal Information. As you browse through the Websites, read pages, or download information, AGSI automatically collects and stores the following anonymous information about your visit:

    • the date and time you access the Website
    • the pages you visit on the Website
    • your computer operating system and type of hardware (for example, iOS Device), and / or
    • the IP address (a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the internet) from which you access the Website

In addition, the Websites may store a cookie on your device that records your visits to the AGSI Websites and makes collection of non-personal information more accurate. You can delete your cookies or turn off cookies in your browser and still visit the AGSI Websites. AGSI uses non-personal information, in the aggregate, to make the Website more useful to visitors, to learn about the number of visitors to the Website and the types of technology used, to detect operational problems, and to improve the Website's overall security.

AGSI’s Go360™ technology-based Client Websites use AGSI’s Login / Password / User Metadata Security Engine to validate and track user usage whilst operating online. AGSI believes it is important for you, the user or operator, to understand when and why we collect personally identifiable information and how that may be used, and we disclose those practices here. The AGSI Go360 Client Websites are subject to the privacy terms in provided by AGSI in the AGSI Software License Agreement, and a user can access those terms via a request to their internal Legal department.


2. Use of Third-Party Services.

AGSI uses of third-party vendors in order to make the Websites function, drive engagement, and improve future use. AGSI does not share your Personal Information with these vendors, except as provided below.

2.1. Web Hosting. In certain circumstances, AGSI uses hosting companies to host Websites.  The website host may have access to your information for its own internal purposes.  AGSI does not provide your Personal Information to GoDaddy for any purpose.

2.2. Hyperlinks. While browsing the AGSI Website(s), you may be able to access the Websites of our affiliates and third parties through a hyperlink.  AGSI does not pass along any stored information about you to such sites.  AGSI assumes no responsibility for the privacy practices of third parties’ Websites and suggests you review the privacy statements / policies on such Websites before sharing your personally identifiable data.

2.3. Google Analytics. AGSI uses various third parties to compile and assess aggregated web traffic data, including Google Analytics, to learn more information about how visitors use the Website, such as referring website, search terms used, time spent on the Website, and similar information.  AGSI does not provide the Personal Information to Google, or any other third party analytics provider.

2.4. Social Media Platforms. AGSI uses various social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube to market AGSI, encourage engagement and discussion with our target customers.  Personal Information obtained through social media platforms may be included in the Personal Information AGSI collects.  AGSI will not share your Personal Information with these platforms unless authorized by you.

3. Your Privacy Rights.

AGSI provides Website visitors the following privacy rights, to the extent reasonably possible, following an email request to privacy@agsi.ca:

  • To correct your Personal Information.
  • To delete your Personal Information.
  • To object to processing of your Personal Information.

4. Security.

AGSI takes reasonable measures to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, taking into account the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the Personal Information.

In order to protect access to the personal information stored in our solutions, AGSI uses the SSL (secure sockets layer) 2.0 encryption technology, intertwined with AGSI encryption, Go360™ Security Engine and Relational Data Base Management Systems security.

This combination of technologies creates multiple layers of security and protects users / visitors from having their information intercepted by anyone other than AGSI while it is being transmitted.

5. When We May Disclose Your Personal Information.

AGSI reserves the right to disclose information as required by a) applicable Federal, Provincial, or State law, b) in order to protect its rights or property, or c) in case AGSI or a portion of its assets is sold.

AGSI does not rent, sell, or otherwise share personally identifiable information.

6. Retention of Personal Information.

AGSI only retains Personal Information where there is an ongoing legitimate business or legal need to do so. When there is no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Personal Information, AGSI will either delete or anonymize your Personal Information.

7. Specific Laws that May Apply to Collection of Personal Information.

AGSI is a corporation organized under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. To the greatest extent possible, Canadian law applies to your privacy rights.  Depending on various factors, other federal or state laws may apply to your use of the Website.

7.1. Privacy Rights of Children. AGSI does not knowingly solicit, collect, or store the Personal Information of children under the age of 18. Please do not submit any Personal Information of a child under the age of 18 to AGSI. If you are under the age of 18, please do not use the Website or submit Personal Information to AGSI.  AGSI will delete any Personal Information discovered of any child under the age of 18.

7.2. California Visitors. If you reside in California, you may have the right to: (1) request that a business that collects a consumer's personal data disclose the categories of personal information that a business has collected about consumers; (2) request that a business delete any personal information about the consumer that a business has collected; and (3) request that a business that sells a consumer's personal information, not sell the consumer's personal information.

7.3. European Union Residents. AGSI does not intentionally collect information about European Union residents. If you are a European Union resident and you believe AGSI has improperly collected your Personal Information, please email privacy@agsi.ca and request that your Personal Information be deleted.

8. Modifications.

AGSI may update this Privacy Policy at any time. All updates and amendments are effective immediately when you visit the Website.

9. Miscellaneous Legal Terms.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any suit naming AGSI as a party involving this Privacy Policy must be filed in courts located in Ontario, Canada, and you consent to venue and jurisdiction there.  AGSI’s failure to enforce any provision in this Privacy Policy is not a waiver of the right to do so at a later date.  If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions of the Privacy Policy will remain in full effect.

10. AGSI Client Companies.

This Privacy Policy is intended to explain the basic privacy rights of Website visitors. Companies that become clients of AGSI, will agree to the AGSI Software Licence Agreement. The AGSI Software License Agreement governs your use of AGSI Software processes and any associated datasets and supersedes this Privacy Policy. AGSI Client Companies may use their licensed versions of AGSI Portals and self-hosted applications to host, display, visualize and otherwise exploit many types of data, and in some cases, Personal Information. AGSI Client companies are subject to their own respective regulatory obligations and ethical considerations surrounding their data, including Personal Information. AGSI does not view, license or store any components of data that AGSI Client Companies process through the AGSI Portals.

11. Before You Copy this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is intended only for AGSI and this Website. The privacy of personal information is a rapidly evolving area of the law. The law may be different depending on the location of your visitors and your company. You should consult an attorney before cutting and pasting this policy onto your website.

12. Last Words.

AGSI is all about transparency. If you believe for any reason has not followed these policies, or has otherwise violated your privacy rights in any way, please contact AGSI to advise of your concerns.
