AGSI is proud of track athlete and Go360 field researcher Taylor Milne as he finished first over the finish line at the Speed River Inferno held in Guelph on May 31.
Taylor improved his time to 8:27:81, the 8th fastest-ever Canadian time in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase event.
Taylor was selected to compete for Canada at the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 3, and was ranked 7th going into the games. Unfortunately, at the games, Taylor had a tough break and was disqualified due to a technical foul.
Taylor said, “I was definitely hoping for a better result out there. I guess that is how sport goes sometimes.” The games are one of many racing events over the span of a racing career and Taylor is looking forward to the next challenge.
Taylor had a good year overall. His time at the Guelph Inferno has qualified him to race in the IAAF Diamond League racing event in Birmingham England at the end of this month. Taylor will be back in Guelph for some more training and moving forward over the next two years.
