When large amounts of chemicals or fuel are spilled on the ground, they invariably make their way to a storm sewer and enter a lake or river, often with devastating effects. There are thousands of spill incidents each year. These Incidents can be caused by vehicle collisions, accidents at industrial and residential buildings, or intentional dumping.
Go360™ SDSS (Spill Decision Support System) helps to identify the source, extent, and trajectory of a spill in real-time, providing officials with the information to take remediating action.
When an incident is reported via a website, or through Police / Fire / 911, dispatchers use Go360™ Dispatch to receive the incoming information, create an incident event, and identify the location(s) on a map. This incident event is immediately ready for dispatching.
Field crews and officials using Go360™ CrewOps can be dispatched with details and reference data such as original incident call information. If required, crews can also be routed to the reported location via a map on their device. CrewOps is simple, easy-to-use, and works on any web-enabled tablet or mobile device. Geospatial data helps responders trace the origin as well as the trajectory of the spill providing them with the information needed to take remediating actions and clean up.
The integrated Go360™ Audit & Compliance application allows responders to access the situation using predetermined checklists. The system allows users to capture photos and other attachments while keeping all collected information, relative to the situation, readily accessible.
The system uses maps with detailed topographical analysis of an area and its waterways, both natural and manmade. This includes water / wastewater networks, watersheds, rivers, streams, and more. The GPS-enabled system can identify the precise points where spilled chemicals would flow into and contaminate a body of water. Officials can access the data in the field.
The system provides a far greater chance of containing the spill and minimizing environmental damage, saving clean-up costs, and preventing public disturbance. The system permits first responders from multiple organizations to work together in a coordinated fashion for everything from clean up, determining the cause, and collecting information for legal purposes.
